Cookies
From their humble, albeit apocryphal, beginnings as dollops of cake batter baked for the kiddies, cookies have evolved into one of America's (if not the world's) favorite sweet snacks.
I'm not sure if it's because they're kind of small so we eat them thinking, "How bad could this little guy possibly be for me?!" or if it's just because there is an almost endless variety. Maybe it's a bit of both.
To start out, here are just a small handful of very basic cookie recipes that you can then vary and modify to your hearts' content!
